So today I spoke with a very nice lady in Florida who has a Blackberry Curve with a cracked lens. After telling her how in-expensive it is to repair her cell phone she seemed extremely excited until I told her she had to mail her phone to us to repair.

After that I got a response that I have never heard in the 5 years I have been in the repair industry. She responded to me: "You guys are not a 'fly by night operation' and are just going to steal my phone are you?"

I did not know how to respond to this but by telling her that we are a reputable company with a track record of customer service. She then started asking me for our credentials, such as Incorporation status, Better Business Bureau status, referrals, etc. I gave her every credential she asked for and even more.

After thinking why she asked me for all of our credentials I googled: cell phone repair. On the second results page I came across an interesting message board dedicated to the shady business practices of Cell Phone Repair companies and how many people have been deceived by these companies.

Working at the Cellular Phone Repair Center I am taken back by how many broken iPhone's we have repaired. Steve Jobs did a wonderful job on the design of the iPhone but if you drop it just right that screen will crack. Cell Phone Care Tips

Everyone has been there before, you drop your cell phone in water or liquid of some sort, you break your cell phone in half, drop your cell phone and the screen breaks..... you can see where I am getting at with this.

LIQUID DAMAGE:

Don't take your cell phone in the bathroom with you when you are showering. The steam that you see on your mirror when you get out of the shower, has also built up inside your cell phone which will result in corrosion over time.
Don't put your cell phone on the dinner table. Every time I go out to eat and the waitress is seating me I see countless tables of people with their cell phone just sitting out on the table ready to get a drink spilled on it. One day I was actually out to eat and a waitress was refilling a friends water and accidentally spilled the entire pitcher of water on my friends cell phone!
Don't take your cell phone to the bar or club! I know this may be hard when you are trying to get a number of that cute girl/guy or trying to call friends to meet up with you so I will just say if you do take your cell phone to the bar or club with you leave it in your purse or pocket and when you need to use it make sure there are no drinks around. We repair allot of phones that have taken a dive in a martini or pilsner of beer.

BROKEN LCD SCREENS:

Don't put your cell phone in the same pocket as your keys. This is one of the top ways lcd screens get busted.
Use a protector case. You can get a cell phone protector case at any of our stores for $10-$15.

FLEX CABLES:

Be gentle with your cell phone when you are opening it. I have seen people literally break their cell phone in half while attempting to answer a call.

CHARGING PORTS:

Plug the charger in the right way. This might sound like a simple task but I have seen people try to force the charger in their cell phone upside down.

It is amazing how careless we have become with cell phones, try and keep in mind that even though cell phone manufactures try and make phones tough that your cell phone is not a TV remote control that you can throw around.

Now before I start let me say that in our retail locations we offer a large selection of cell phone replacements and I am in no way wanting to dis-credit the replacement side of our business.

Most of us have all been there before. You drop your phone in water, break it in half, throw it at your "loved" one in the heat of battle, forget your phone is on top of you car and drive off, or just plain destroy your phone. Now what do you do? You either buy a replacement cell phone or file insurance. But there is a better way, how about you just get that cell phone repaired.

I have been in the cell phone repair industry for over 4 years now and I have seen everything imaginable happen to phones. Funny thing is, we normally can fix it all. We have grown our little repair business from 1 store in 1 state to 4 stores in 2 states, and accept national repairs via our website: www.cellularphonerepaircenter.com . At most of our locations it is so busy that customers literally have no where to sit and we have over 15-20 places for customers to wait on there phones.
